Overview

LinkedIn scheduling for people with a day job

On LinkedIn, consistency matters more than any single post, and consistency is the hard part when you also run a business. Scheduling LinkedIn posts with Brandlyre lets you write a few posts in one sitting and spread them across the weeks ahead. You can connect your own profile or a company Page you administer. Brandlyre writes the LinkedIn version of each post in a professional register, longer and more considered than the same idea on Instagram, and publishes it at the time you set through LinkedIn's official API.

Brand voice

One idea, written for LinkedIn

Brandlyre writes a separate version of a post for each network. On LinkedIn that means a clear first line, room for an argument, and a tone your clients would expect from you.

Carousels

Posts with several images

Attach two to twenty images to one LinkedIn post: the slides of a talk, the stages of a project, the team at an event.

Planning

A rhythm you can keep

Put two or three posts a week on the calendar and let them go out on their own. Brandlyre suggests posting times for each network, which you can always change.

How it works

Three steps to a steady LinkedIn presence

  1. 1

    Connect LinkedIn

Choose your profile or a company Page you administer.

  2. 2

    Write or generate

Draft posts yourself, or ask Brandlyre for ideas from your brand profile.

  3. 3

    Schedule

Pick the days. Each post publishes at its time.

What you can post

What you can publish to LinkedIn

LinkedIn is happy with text alone, and long text at that. Images are optional.

Format Details
Post Text on its own, or text with images (up to 20).
Carousel Two to twenty images in a single post.

What you need

  • A LinkedIn account. To post as a company, you must be an administrator of its Page.
  • Profile connections need reconnecting every 60 days, because LinkedIn issues no longer access to personal profiles. Brandlyre reminds you by email before it lapses.

Not supported yet

  • Video posts, documents (PDF carousels) and polls.
  • Likes and comments in Brandlyre. LinkedIn does not let apps read them back for personal profiles.
LinkedIn limit: 3,000 characters 0 / 3,000

Tips

Tips for posting on LinkedIn

01

Earn the "see more"

LinkedIn shows two or three lines before cutting the post. Open with the conclusion or a concrete detail, not a greeting.

02

Share what you have learned

A mistake you made with a client, a question you get every week, a number from your own work: specific experience beats general advice.

03

Post as a person, then as the company

People follow people. A post from your own profile often reaches further than the same post from the company Page, so use both when it fits.

04

Reply to comments the same day

A post that becomes a conversation keeps getting shown. Scheduling frees the time to be there when the replies come in.

FAQ

LinkedIn and Brandlyre: your questions

Can I schedule posts to a LinkedIn company Page?

Yes, if you are an administrator of the Page. When you connect, LinkedIn lists the Pages you administer and you choose one. You can also connect your personal profile.

Can I schedule LinkedIn carousels?

You can publish a post with two to twenty images. PDF document carousels are not supported yet.

Why do I need to reconnect my LinkedIn profile?

LinkedIn gives apps 60 days of access to a personal profile and offers no way to extend it. Brandlyre emails you before it runs out, and reconnecting takes a click. Company Page connections renew on their own for about a year.

Can Brandlyre import my old LinkedIn posts?

For company Pages, yes: up to a year of posts, as many as 200. LinkedIn does not let apps read the posts on a personal profile, so those cannot be imported.

Will I see how my LinkedIn posts perform?

Not in Brandlyre yet. LinkedIn does not let apps read likes and comments on personal-profile posts, so check them on LinkedIn itself.

Does it write in a professional tone?

It writes in your brand voice, adapted to LinkedIn. You set the voice in your brand profile, and you can edit every word before the post is scheduled.
